An RJ-45 Cat.5 modular plug certified to TIA/EIA-568-B for solid-conductor network cables
This modular plug terminates a single RJ-45 male connection for Category 5 network cabling. It suits installers and network technicians who need to field-terminate solid or stranded conductors on site. The component meets TIA/EIA-568-B standards for structured wiring systems. Buyers requiring shielded connectors or Category 6 performance should select a different part.
The plug conforms to the 568 pin-out specification defined by TIA/EIA-568-B for consistent signal integrity. No active electronics or power draw are involved, so thermals and noise are not applicable. The passive design adds negligible resistance to the link budget. Tooling for crimp termination is required but not included.
No published specifications for this item yet.
Strip the cable jacket, arrange the eight wires in the correct TIA/EIA-568-B order, insert them fully into the RJ-45 plug, then crimp firmly. The step most often missed is verifying every wire reaches the end of the connector before crimping.
Inspect the RJ-45 male network connector periodically for bent pins, cracked housing or corrosion. Replace the cable if the latch tab breaks, contacts oxidise or the jacket shows cuts that expose the internal conductors.
