  • Cross separator reduces crosstalk for clean 550 MHz signal
  • Includes 25 ties for secure outdoor routing
  • Universal RJ45 compatibility supports PoE cameras, routers and NAS devices

Outdoor Cat 6 cable for long runs

This 50 foot Cat 6 Ethernet cable uses solid copper-clad aluminium conductors and a double-jacket design. The inner PVC layer and outer UV-resistant LLDPE jacket protect the four twisted pairs during direct burial or conduit installation. Gold-plated RJ45 connectors include strain-relief boots to reduce breakage at the plug. Twenty-five cable ties are included for securing the run.

Suits buried or outdoor POE camera links

Installers who need a single 50 foot outdoor run for POE cameras, access points or building-to-building links will find the double jacket and solid conductors appropriate. Buyers who require pure copper conductors, shielded FTP or SFTP construction, or Cat 6A and Cat 7 performance specifications should look elsewhere. The cable is relatively stiff and barely bends to a 90 degree angle, so tight indoor patching is not its strength.

Handles 1 Gbps at full length

At the supplied 50 foot length the cable supports 10 Gbps at 550 MHz, well above the 180 foot threshold where the rating drops to 1 Gbps at 250 MHz. The 24 AWG solid CCA conductors and cross separator keep crosstalk low across the full run. For runs exceeding 180 feet the bandwidth halves, so very long direct-burial links should be planned at gigabit speeds.

Questions about this item

What RJ45 devices do I need at each end of this 50 ft cable?

Connectors are RJ45 male on both ends, so you need RJ45 female ports on a router, switch, PoE camera, NVR, PC, printer, server, NAS, VoIP phone or any other standard network device.

Will this 24 AWG CCA cable run at 1 Gbps on my older Cat 5e switch ports?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e equipment and will negotiate 1 Gbps at 250 MHz on legacy switch ports.

How can I verify the link is operating at 10 Gbps after I bury the 50 ft run?

Check the link speed on the connected switch or router; a 50 ft length is well under the 180 ft limit, so the interface should report 10 Gbps at 550 MHz.
