Precision SC Deluxe 2" Visual Back

The Baader Planetarium SC Deluxe 2" eyepiece and filter holder attaches to a standard visual back on Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. It accepts standard 2" eyepieces and integrates a dedicated filter holder into the optical path. The unit consists of a visual back and a filter holder joined by M58 threads, supplied as a single assembly.

Upgrading from Basic Visual Backs

This assembly replaces a simple visual back that lacks filter integration or uses a smaller barrel format. The jump is worth it when you want permanent dust sealing for the optical tube or need to swap 2" filters quickly without re-threading accessories. The bronze clamping ring and dual locking screws add mechanical rigidity that a basic compression ring cannot match.

Build Integration and Workflow

The holder threads directly onto the telescope rear cell using the standard SCT interface, then accepts any 2" eyepiece or diagonal via the bronze ring. A 2" filter stays seated inside the T2-17B section, freeing the eyepiece clamp for rapid ocular changes. The two-part M58 connection lets you remove the filter holder independently when a straight-through visual back is preferred.
