Mazda Backup Camera Retention

The Axxess AXBUCH-MZ6V keeps the factory rear-view camera working when an aftermarket radio is installed in compatible Mazda models from 2007 to 2015. It also lets owners add an aftermarket camera to the original navigation screen. The kit includes the AXCSD-6V step-down converter that reduces a 12-volt supply to the 6 volts required by the camera. Installation is aimed at owners upgrading the head unit without losing the safety view.

Upgrade From Basic Adapters

Standard line-output converters pass audio but do not handle the video signal or voltage requirements of a factory backup camera. This harness is worth the jump when the vehicle originally came with navigation and a rear camera, because it preserves that feed on the new radio and supplies the correct 6-volt power. Without it, the camera image is lost or the camera can be damaged by excess voltage. Vehicles without factory navigation are not supported by this part.

Build Integration

The module sits between the factory camera wiring and the aftermarket head unit, using the included AXCSD-6V converter to match the camera voltage. It frees the installer from fabricating a custom voltage reducer or running new video cables to the front of the car. The harness plugs into the existing Mazda connectors on listed CX-5, CX-7, CX-9 and Mazda6 models with navigation. Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper signal routing and secure mounting.
