Hazardous-area network horn speaker

The Axis XC1311 is a self-contained network horn speaker certified for Zone 1 and Division 1 hazardous locations. It connects directly to a standard IP network without extra amplifiers or audio servers. Industrial sites such as oil refineries, chemical plants and grain facilities use it to broadcast clear voice alerts to personnel in explosive atmospheres.

Replaces separate PA amplifiers and analogue wiring

Legacy public-address systems in hazardous zones often require explosion-proof enclosures, long analogue cable runs and dedicated amplifier rooms. This all-in-one unit removes that infrastructure by placing the amplifier, DSP and horn inside a single certified housing. The upgrade is worthwhile when a facility wants to reduce cabling cost, simplify zoning and manage announcements from the existing network management platform.

Mounts on standard brackets and configures over IP

Installers fix the speaker to a wall or pole using common mounting hardware, then run a single Ethernet cable for power and data. Configuration is performed through a web interface or Axis device management tools, so no specialist audio commissioning is needed. The most common issue is forgetting to verify that the network switch port supplies enough PoE power for the speaker’s operating class.
