One-to-four VGA distribution

The Avocent EMS1000T-001 is a new KVM switch that takes a single computer signal and drives four VGA monitors simultaneously. It supports resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 and works with VGA, XGA, UXGA and WXGA displays. The unit connects via a Mini D-Sub 15 pin connector and a stereo mini jack for audio. A 12 V DC, 1 A power supply is required.

Cat5 extension and audio

Video and audio are transmitted over Cat5 cable to remote receivers up to 500 feet away, enabling point-to-point or point-to-multipoint setups. The hardware-only design provides plug-and-play operation without software drivers. Independent sharpness and brightness controls on each output allow per-screen tuning. Advanced spike-suppression circuits protect the signal path, and DDC support preserves display identification data.

Suits multi-monitor broadcasting

This switch suits control rooms, digital signage or training environments where one source must feed four identical VGA screens at distance. It is not a KVM for switching between multiple computers, so buyers needing multiple CPU ports should look elsewhere. The VGA-only output also means it cannot drive DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort monitors without active converters.

Desktop or rack mounting

The small metal chassis includes brackets for desk or 19-inch rack installation, fitting standard equipment cabinets. Daisy-chain capability at the receiver end allows further extension of the signal chain. Full-screen, full-motion video is maintained across all four outputs.
