Battery protection module

This DC low-voltage protector sits between a 12‑36 V lead-acid or lithium battery and its load. It monitors voltage with 0.1 V accuracy and trips a relay when the preset threshold is reached, making it suited for off-grid solar, marine or backup installations that need automatic over-discharge prevention. The unit ships new and includes eight identical boards for multi-bank setups.

Cut-off thresholds and current headroom

Users define a disconnect voltage and a reconnect hysteresis; the default ships at 12 V disconnect with a 2 V difference. The relay interrupts the circuit before the battery reaches deep discharge, but the module itself draws under 1.5 W and passes up to 20 A before the internal breaker trips. Loads exceeding that current or systems requiring a hard power-off switch after disconnection are outside its design envelope.

Thermal behaviour and power draw

In normal operation the board consumes less than 1.5 W, so self-heating stays minimal inside its 57 × 42 × 19 mm enclosure. No fan is fitted; cooling relies on natural convection, and the supplier notes no audible noise from the relay during switching. The module retains user settings across power cycles, and a simultaneous button press on power-up restores the factory 888 default.
