The Propper Door Holder PDS-orange is a compact hinge-mounted device that holds a door open without wedges or floor stops. It slips over any standard door hinge and folds flat for pocket or toolbox carry. Tradespeople, cleaners and facility staff who move through doorways repeatedly will find it removes the need to bend down or prop doors with makeshift objects.

Capacity and headroom

The tool weighs 5 oz and measures 4 by 2 by 1 inches, so it adds negligible bulk to a belt or cart. It secures the door at the top, middle or bottom hinge with a contained hook that prevents damage to the door or jamb. The magnetised body keeps it attached to metal surfaces when not deployed. It handles typical interior and exterior doors but is not suited for non-standard hinge profiles or heavy fire doors that exceed normal residential hardware.

Practical limits of the hinge interface

Operation depends entirely on the presence of a standard butt hinge; doors on pivot, continuous or concealed hinges cannot use it. The hook geometry fits common hinge pin diameters but may not clear unusually thick hinge leaves or decorative knuckle guards. Because the holder clamps directly to the hinge, it cannot be used on frameless glass doors or sliding systems that lack a hinge leaf. No power source or wiring is involved.
