3-1/2 Inch Rigid Conduit Union

The Appleton Century Crofts rigid union joins two lengths of 3-1/2 inch threaded rigid conduit in a straight run. Its female-to-female NPT threads accept standard conduit ends for a secure, code-compliant connection. The malleable iron body provides mechanical strength for industrial and commercial raceway systems. Chromate, powder and electroplated finishes protect the fitting against corrosion in harsh environments.

Replaces Damaged Or Misaligned Couplings

Install this union when a conduit run must be broken for maintenance, equipment replacement or future expansion without cutting and re-threading pipe. The fitting is worth the extra cost whenever conduit sections need periodic separation or when alignment between fixed enclosures cannot be guaranteed. It is not suited for installations that must remain permanently sealed or for joining conduit of different trade sizes.

Threaded NPT Limits And Orientation

The straight female-to-female NPT design requires both conduit ends to be threaded and free to rotate into the union. Conduit runs that are already fixed at both ends cannot accept this fitting without a separate rotation point. The 3-1/2 inch trade size restricts use to matching conduit only; reducers or bushings are not compatible with this union body. Hazardous-location ratings apply only when the complete assembly meets applicable code requirements.
