Vertical Sealing Fitting 1-1/4

The Appleton EYD-46 is a vertical sealing fitting designed for hazardous-location conduit systems. It prevents the passage of gases, vapours or flames between sections of 1-1/4 inch IMC or RMC conduit. Rated for Class I Division 1 and 2 Groups C and D, Class II Division 1 and 2 Groups E, F and G, and Class III environments. The iron body with silver finish provides durability in demanding industrial settings.

Upgrade From Non-Drain Fittings

This fitting replaces standard seal-offs that lack a drain feature, allowing condensation or moisture to escape the conduit run. The jump is worth it when vertical conduit sections in classified areas accumulate liquid that could compromise the seal or damage conductors. The 1-1/4 inch FNPT by MNPT configuration fits existing threaded entries without adapters. It suits maintenance crews who need to meet NEC sealing requirements while managing internal moisture.

Vertical Orientation Limits

The EYD-46 is certified for vertical mounting only; horizontal installation voids the hazardous-location rating. The 5-1/16 inch overall length requires adequate clearance between enclosures or bends. Iron construction adds weight that must be supported by the conduit system itself. The fitting does not accommodate conduit sizes other than 1-1/4 inch trade size, so reducers or enlargers cannot be used without breaking the listing.
