Appleton 4 in Rigid Union

The Appleton UNY400R-A is a straight rigid union designed to join two sections of 4 in threaded conduit in hazardous-location electrical systems. It provides a female-to-male NPT transition that maintains continuity between conduit runs or between conduit and an enclosure. The fitting is rated for Class I Division 1 and 2, Class II Division 1 and 2, and Class III environments, making it suitable for demanding industrial and commercial installations where flammable gases, dust or fibres may be present.

Powder-coated aluminium construction

The union body is made from aluminium with a powder-coated finish that resists corrosion and surface wear in harsh indoor or outdoor settings. Its 4 in trade size matches standard rigid conduit dimensions, allowing direct threading onto male and female NPT ends without adapters. The compact 5 1/8 in overall length, height and width keeps the joint profile low, which helps when routing through tight cable trays or crowded junction boxes.

Hazardous-location rated sealing

The fitting meets NEC hazardous-location requirements for Groups A, B, C, D, E, F and G, providing a secure mechanical and electrical bond that contains arcs and prevents flame propagation.
