Rackmount UPS for critical IT loads

The APC Smart-UPS SMT2200R2X167 is a 2200VA line-interactive UPS built in a 2U rackmount form factor. It delivers pure sine wave output at 120 V to protect servers, networking gear and storage arrays from power disruptions. Ten NEMA 5-15R outlets provide battery-backed and surge-protected connections for multiple devices. A SmartSlot accepts an optional Network Management Card for remote monitoring and graceful shutdown via PowerChute software.

Replaces standby or offline units

This unit upgrades installations that currently rely on basic standby UPS models without automatic voltage regulation. The built-in AVR corrects brownouts and over-voltages without draining the battery, preserving runtime for genuine outages. The jump is worthwhile when equipment requires pure sine wave power or when centralised management through EcoStruxure IT or third-party platforms becomes necessary. User-replaceable battery cartridges extend service life without replacing the whole UPS.

Sustained operation with AVR engaged

Under continuous load the UPS regulates voltage through its AVR circuitry while keeping the battery fully charged for the moment utility power fails. Pure sine wave output remains stable during extended brownout conditions, preventing stress on connected power supplies. The 4-hour recharge window restores the battery to usable capacity between events. Serial connectivity and the optional network card allow administrators to track load levels and battery health throughout long-duration incidents.
