The Adesso NUSCAN 2400U is a corded handheld barcode scanner built for point-of-sale counters and inventory stations. It connects through a single USB port and draws 5 VDC at up to 130 mA, requiring no external power supply. The 630 nm visible red LED illumination and IP67 waterproof rating suit retail, warehouse and light-industrial environments. Windows 2000 through 10 and OS X 10.4 or later are supported.

200 scans per second at 12 inch range

The 1D CCD engine reads at 200 sps with a resolution of 0.1 mm (4 mils) across a depth of field up to 12 inches. Minimum print contrast of 30 percent is required for reliable decoding. Supported symbologies include UPC/EAN/JAN with supplements, ISBN/ISSN, Code 32, Code 39 full ASCII, Codabar, Code 128 full ASCII, Code 93, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI/Plessy and others. Very dense or low-contrast labels beyond the 12 inch range will not read consistently.

Plug-and-play USB for countertop builds

The scanner adds 7.00 by 4.00 by 2.75 inches and 0.50 lb to a workstation, leaving ample desk space for a keyboard or terminal. A single USB-A connection handles both data and power, freeing a mains outlet and eliminating a separate adapter. The corded design prevents battery downtime but limits reach to the cable length. Buyers needing wireless mobility or 2D imaging should consider other form factors.
