The Abus 83/45 RK KD-100 uses a square brass body with a hardened steel shackle. It suits gates, sheds or lockers where each lock must open only with its own key. The 5-pin or 6-pin cylinder accepts a Yale No. 8 keyway and cannot be operated by a control key. Weather-resistant construction makes it viable for outdoor use.

The interchangeable core can be rekeyed but requires no control-key registration. A non-removable key prevents the key from being withdrawn while the shackle is open.
