The Abus 83/45 RK KA-700 is a square brass-bodied padlock built for keyed-alike convenience. It uses a Sargent L4-LC keyway and a five or six pin cylinder that is rekeyable and accepts an interchangeable core. The shackle is steel with a 3/8 in diameter and 1 in vertical clearance. Weather resistant construction suits outdoor gates, sheds or utility enclosures.

Mechanical push-button limits

This lock is a purely mechanical push-button design with no electronic audit trail, no remote code change and no power source to fail. The key cannot be removed while the shackle is open, preventing accidental unlocking. High-security rating reflects pick and drill resistance, yet the fixed shackle height of 1 in may not clear thick hasps or chain links. Buyers who need audit logs, timed access or motorised latching cannot use this product.

Upgrade from basic laminated padlocks

Replacing a standard laminated steel padlock with this brass model adds corrosion resistance, a rekeyable cylinder and interchangeable core flexibility. The jump is worth it when multiple locks must share one key across a site and when the keyway must match existing Sargent hardware.
