Clear structural bonding tape

3M VHB Tape 4910 is a transparent acrylic foam tape designed for permanent structural bonds where a clear or colourless joint is required. The general-purpose acrylic adhesive on both sides adheres strongly to high surface energy substrates such as glass and metal. It replaces rivets, spot welds and liquid adhesives in many interior and exterior applications.

Solid acrylic core with printed liner

The tape uses a solid acrylic foam carrier that is viscoelastic, giving it energy-absorbing and stress-relaxing properties for durable bonds. A red printed PE film release liner protects the adhesive until application. The 3 inch diameter core suits standard dispensers and allows clean, controlled unwinding during assembly.

Limited to high-energy surfaces

The adhesive is formulated for high surface energy materials such as glass and metal and will not bond reliably to low-energy plastics or powder-coated finishes without additional surface preparation. The 40 mil thickness suits gaps of that scale but cannot bridge larger irregularities. Buyers needing to join dissimilar low-energy substrates or fill wider gaps should consider alternative fastening methods.
