3M GPT-020F Double-Sided Tape

3M GPT-020F is a transparent double-coated pressure-sensitive adhesive tape built on a clear polyester carrier. It arrives on a white printed BOPP film liner with a red 3M logo for easy handling and converting. The modified solvent-less acrylic adhesive delivers high peel and shear strength across a wide variety of substrates, including some low surface energy materials. High initial tack and humidity resistance suit general assembly and mounting tasks.

200 micron acrylic adhesive limits

The 200 micron (8 mil) adhesive layer provides strong initial grab, yet very rough or heavily textured surfaces may reduce effective contact area. Low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene or polypropylene can still challenge adhesion despite the modified acrylic formulation. Extended exposure to elevated temperatures or solvents beyond the product rating can degrade bond integrity over time. The BOPP liner protects the adhesive until application but must be removed cleanly to avoid residue transfer.

Check surface prep and core fit

Verify that the bonding surfaces are clean, dry and free of oils or release agents before applying the tape. Confirm that your dispenser or converting equipment accepts a 3 inch diameter core, as the roll is wound on this standard size.
