3M Dual Lock 400 Fastener

3M SJ3541 is a black reclosable fastener with 400 stems per square inch on a polypropylene carrier. It uses a synthetic rubber adhesive designed for plastics, powder-coated metal and other low surface energy substrates. The product replaces screws, clips or hook-and-loop in applications needing repeated access or repositioning. Engaged thickness measures .23 inches (224 mils).

Capacity and headroom

Closure life is rated at 1000 cycles and adhesion reaches 242 ounces per inch on stainless steel test panels. Type 400 stem density mates with type 170, 250 or 400 counterparts, with higher combined numbers yielding greater closure strength. The 10-foot roll provides five times the closure strength of standard hook-and-loop fasteners. It handles indoor signs, cushions, display components and similar moderate-load tasks.

Rubber adhesive and liner

The rubber adhesive bonds to low surface energy materials where acrylic adhesives often fail. A white polyolefin film release liner protects the adhesive until application. Mushroom-shaped stems interlock with identical stems on the mating side for consistent engagement. No additional tools or hardware are bundled with the roll.
