Installing and common pitfalls

Peel the supplied Command strips, press them onto a clean, dry surface and hold for the time shown on the pack before hanging the rod. The backing uses polyethylene foam that releases cleanly when pulled straight down. Most failures come from skipping the surface-prep step, mounting on textured or freshly painted walls, or letting the hooks sit out of level so the rod slides. Uneven weight distribution between the two hooks also reduces real-world holding power.

Behaviour over time

The adhesive bond is designed for long-term static load rather than repeated tugging, so the hooks keep their grip through daily curtain movement. Heat, humidity and direct sunlight can weaken the foam backing faster than indoor shade conditions. If the rod is adjusted often, the strips may reach their release point sooner than the rated lifespan. For permanent installations the hold remains reliable; for frequent redecorating the strips are single-use and must be replaced.
