3M AP115 Silane Glass Treatment prepares uncoated glass for 3M Acrylic Foam VHB Tape by creating a hydrophobic surface that resists water-vapour undercutting. It is intended for installers and fabricators who need durable bonds on glazing in humid or wet environments. The clear liquid leaves no visible residue on the substrate.

Replaces Untreated or Poorly Prepped Surfaces

Without this primer, hydrophilic glass can allow moisture to migrate beneath the tape bondline and reduce long-term adhesion. The treatment is worth applying whenever VHB tape will face sustained humidity, exterior exposure or cyclic condensation. One 4 fl oz bottle covers approximately 20 to 25 square feet of glass area.

Maintains Bond Integrity Under Continuous Moisture

The silane chemistry converts the glass surface from water-loving to water-repelling, so the tape-to-glass interface remains stable during prolonged damp cycles. Performance does not degrade after the initial cure because the hydrophobic layer is chemically bonded to the substrate rather than sitting on top of it. The product expires in 2027.
