The 3M 850R red polyester splicing tape is built for web handling and roll changes on converting equipment. Its acrylic adhesive bonds to polyester film backings across a 60 to 300 degrees F range. The 1.9 mil thickness keeps the splice thin so it tracks through slitters and winders without marking the web. Converters running continuous processes use it to join rolls without stopping the line.

Fits Standard 3-Inch Core Holders

The 3-inch width matches common core sizes on unwind and rewind stands. No special dispensers are needed; the roll drops into existing tape heads on bag makers, label presses or laminators. The 5-yard length supplies enough splices for several shift changes while the compact roll stores in a maintenance drawer. Acrylic adhesive resists ooze at 300 degrees F so it will not gum guides or rollers.

Holds at 300 Degrees F Through Long Runs

Acrylic adhesive maintains shear strength during extended heat exposure on drying tunnels or heated nip rolls. The polyester film backing will not stretch or tear when the web tension spikes during acceleration. Red colour lets operators spot the splice instantly during inspection. The tape keeps its bond from cold start at 60 degrees F through steady-state production at the upper limit.
