This Vszerda U3-045 adapter converts a single motherboard 19/20-pin header into two front-facing USB 3.0 Type-A ports that mount in a standard 3.5-inch floppy bay. It is intended for desktop builders who want convenient high-speed ports on the front of a PC case without using rear I/O or expansion slots. The device works with Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS and requires no driver installation.

Sustained transfer behaviour

The hub uses a USB 3.0 controller rated for 5 Gbps super-speed signalling and remains backward compatible with 480 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps protocols. Each port can deliver up to 900 mA, so connected drives or peripherals receive full bus power during extended copy sessions. Because the adapter bridges a single internal header, total bandwidth is shared between the two ports when both are active simultaneously.

Build and mounting practicality

The black bracket measures 4.33 inches on each side and weighs 1.76 ounces, fitting the standard 3.5-inch bay cut-out with a simple screw-in installation. Copper conductors carry signals from the 19/20-pin motherboard connector to the two female ports, and the plug-and-play design means no additional software or firmware steps are required after the cable is seated.
