The steel base footprint is 30 x 16, so the host surface must accommodate those dimensions. Lift assist uses a single pneumatic spring that raises the whole assembly straight up from 4.5 to 20 without swinging forward, preserving depth behind the riser. The removable keyboard tray can be detached with the supplied hex tool to reclaim the lower tier when only a single surface is needed.
