The Viking VK-E-10A-EWP is a telephone line powered speaker phone designed for hands-free two-way communication in outdoor or harsh environments. It suits homes or small businesses needing a durable entry phone that connects directly to a CO line or analog PABX station.

Enhanced Weather Protection uses rubber gaskets, closed cell foam, silicon sealed connections, anti-corrosive gel filled tip and ring connectors, and urethane encapsulated circuit boards with internally sealed trim POTS and DIP switches. A mylar speaker and UV stable exterior resist moisture and sun exposure. The unit supports one to four stations sharing a line when paired with a Viking C-200 Entry Phone Controller, but it cannot operate without an active telephone line providing power.

Telephone line powered operation defines

The device draws all power from the telephone line, so it functions only where a live analog circuit is present. Intelligent call progress detection automatically disconnects on CPC signal, silence, busy tone or programmed timeout. An alternate action call button places or cancels calls, yet the phone offers no internal battery backup, no network connectivity and no integration with digital or IP telephony systems.
