Copper XL Tee for 3-inch press-fit systems

The Viega ProPress 918XL is a crimp tee fitting made from copper with EPDM O-rings on all three press-fit connections. Each port accepts 3-inch copper tube size and includes a centre stop dimple for consistent insertion depth. It is rated for potable water applications at a maximum operating pressure of 200 psi.

Behaviour under sustained pressure

The press-fit joints maintain a permanent mechanical seal without soldering, flame or flux, so the assembly withstands continuous 200 psi service in hot or cold water lines. Copper construction resists corrosion and thermal cycling, while the EPDM seals remain stable across typical domestic temperature ranges. No periodic re-tightening is required once the joint is pressed.

Replaces soldered copper tees in 3-inch mains

This fitting replaces traditional soldered tees where open flame is impractical or prohibited, cutting installation time on 3-inch copper mains. The jump is worth it on retrofit projects, occupied buildings or tight spaces where fire permits, cooling time and flux cleanup add cost. It does not suit systems requiring threaded, flanged or grooved connections.
