The Viega 79040 is an inline spring check valve built from low-lead bronze with EPDM seals and a stainless-steel spring. It suits potable-water and hydronic systems that require backflow prevention at a cracking pressure of .5 psi and a maximum working pressure of 200 psi at 200°F. Installers who need a press-to-press connection on 3/4 inch tubing will find the valve compatible with standard press tools. It is not intended for steam service or for applications that demand full-port flow.

Press connection installs in seconds

The press-by-press ends eliminate threading, soldering or glue, so the joint is made with a single tool cycle on properly prepared tubing. Ensure the tube is cut square, deburred and inserted to the full depth mark; an incomplete press or a contaminated seal surface are the most common causes of leaks. The valve mounts horizontally or vertically, but the flow arrow must match system direction. No additional sealant or tape is required on the press ends.
