It delivers near-zero distortion and corner-to-corner sharpness at its maximum T2.9 aperture. Two aspherical and three extra-low dispersion elements correct chromatic aberration across the frame. Standard 0.8 mod gears on focus and aperture rings integrate directly with cinema follow-focus systems.

Upgrade from Standard Wide-Angle Zooms

This prime replaces variable-aperture zooms that introduce barrel distortion and breathing during focus pulls. The fixed T2.9 aperture maintains consistent exposure while the Zero-D optical design eliminates the curved lines typical of ultra-wide zooms. The jump is worth it when distortion-free architecture, immersive interiors or gimbal work demand a constant wide perspective without post-production correction.

Compact Build for Gimbal and Mirrorless Rigs

At a compact, lightweight form factor the lens balances easily on gimbals and keeps mirrorless rigs agile for run-and-gun shooting.
