Plate caster for heavy carts

This ZORO SELECT plate caster is built for wheelbarrows and carts that need to move up to 1000 lb of equipment or materials across workshops or yards. The swivel top allows the wheel to rotate freely so the cart can turn in tight aisles or around obstacles. Polyurethane tread on a polyurethane core gives a non-marking surface that resists wear on concrete, epoxy or tile floors. It arrives new and ready to bolt onto a compatible mounting plate.

Four-inch wheel with bolt-on plate

The 4 in diameter wheel and 2 in tread width roll over expansion joints, cords and mild debris without jamming. A flat mounting plate with pre-drilled holes attaches directly to the cart frame using standard bolts, so no welding or specialised brackets are required. Because the caster has no integrated brake or swivel lock, the builder must add separate locking hardware if the cart needs to stay stationary on slopes. The single-wheel design keeps the assembly narrow for tight clearances.

Polyurethane tread holds up under constant weight

Under sustained 1000 lb loads the polyurethane tread resists flat-spotting better than softer rubber compounds, so the wheel keeps rolling smoothly after long periods parked under a heavy bin. The material also rejects most shop oils and solvents that would degrade other tread types. California Proposition 65 notices apply because the product contains chemicals identified by the state as causing cancer and reproductive harm.
