3/8-inch Schedule 40 black pipe nipple

This 1-1/2-inch black steel nipple is threaded on both ends with MNPT connections for joining female-threaded pipe or fittings. It is manufactured to ASTM A-53 Type E and ASTM A-733 Grade B standards using electric resistance welding. The fitting suits plumbing, compressed air, and low-pressure steam systems requiring a short, rigid connector.

Replaces damaged or corroded short nipples

Swapping out a leaking threaded nipple restores joint integrity without replacing longer pipe runs. The Schedule 40 wall thickness of 5/64 inch handles up to 300 psi at 150 degrees F and 150 psi saturated steam. The jump is worth it when the existing nipple shows thread deformation, rust scale, or hairline cracks at the weld seam.

Holds pressure under continuous duty

The welded black steel construction resists vibration and thermal cycling in fixed installations.
