551 lb caster wheel for yard carts

This ZORO SELECT nylon-tread wheel carries a 550 lb load rating and suits wheelbarrows or garden carts rated between 300 and 999 lb. The 2 in diameter by 1 in width profile fits equipment designed for that footprint. A 70 Shore D hardness gives a firm, non-marking roll on hard surfaces.

Axle fit and hub clearance

Verify that your axle measures 25/64 in and that the hub pocket accepts a 1 in hub length before ordering. The wheel ships without a spanner bushing, so reuse the existing one or source a compatible bushing separately. Confirm the wheel core material matches the original to avoid fitment issues.

Hard nylon tread on plastic core

The solid nylon tread on a plastic core runs without pneumatic pressure, eliminating flats and reducing rolling resistance on pavement. Hard 70 Shore D material produces more audible contact noise than pneumatic alternatives but resists wear and does not mark floors. No bearings are included, so friction and heat depend on the host axle condition.

Questions about this item

Does the 24WK28 wheel come with a spanner bushing for the 25/64 in axle?

No, the wheel is supplied without a spanner bushing; the 25/64 in axle bore accepts a standard bolt or pin directly.

Should I pick this wheel for a cart rated near 550 lb or one rated closer to 300 lb?

The 550 lb load rating covers the full 300 to 999 lb range, so it suits both light and heavy carts without over-specifying.

Will the 70 Shore D nylon tread mark epoxy-coated garage floors?

The wheel is specified as non-marking, so the hard nylon tread will not leave scuffs on epoxy or other finished floors.
