This United Pacific air cleaner fits dual four-barrel carburettors on classic and custom engines. The oval aluminium housing encloses the filter element while matching period-style engine bays. It is intended for carburetted petrol engines that use a pair of four-barrel units.

Clearance and airflow limits of the oval housing

The oval outline restricts overall height and width, so the assembly may not clear low-profile bonnets or tall intake manifolds. Air enters around the perimeter, so total flow is limited by the filter surface area inside the given envelope. Engines demanding very high volume at wide-open throttle can exceed what this package delivers.

Direct bolt-on to dual four-barrel bases

The unit mounts on standard four-barrel flange bolt patterns without adapters. Alignment of the two carburettor bases must be accurate; uneven spacing creates sealing gaps that draw unfiltered air. Over-tightening the hold-down nuts can distort the aluminium lid, so torque should be kept moderate.
