Quad-Radio 5 GHz Access Point

The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi BaseStation XG is a quad-radio 802.11ac Wave 2 access point built for large venues and high-density networks. It uses four 5 GHz 4x4 MU-MIMO radios, with three dedicated to client traffic and one reserved for persistent security scanning. A beamforming antenna focuses signal toward connected devices. The unit is powered by 802.3bt PoE++ and includes the required injector.

High-Capacity Venues and Security-Focused

This access point suits environments that need to serve up to 1,500 simultaneous clients with an aggregate 5.2 Gbps throughput across the 5 GHz band. The dedicated security radio provides continuous threat management without reducing client capacity. It is not for buyers who require multi-band coverage or who cannot deliver 802.3bt PoE++ power to the mounting location.

10GbE ICM Uplink Port

The single 10GbE ICM Ethernet port is the specification that determines whether this model fits the network backbone. A 1 GbE RJ45 port is also available for alternative connectivity. If the infrastructure cannot terminate a 10GbE ICM link, the full throughput potential of the four 5 GHz radios cannot be realised.
