This neoprene sleeve coupling insert fits size 3 Sure-Flex couplings. It transmits torque between shafts in industrial machinery such as blowers, compressors, conveyors, mixers, motors and pumps. The one-piece solid construction handles a maximum torque of 78 in-lb at speeds up to 9,200 RPM. It operates in temperatures up to 200 degrees F.

Suited for Light-Duty Misalignment

The insert accommodates angular misalignment of 1 degree and parallel misalignment of .01 in. It delivers .12 hp at 100 RPM with a torsional stiffness of 229 in-lb/rad. Buyers needing higher torque capacity, greater speed ratings or larger shaft sizes should look at other coupling sizes. Applications requiring metallic or alternative elastomer materials are not served by this neoprene insert.

Capacity Limits at Size 3

The component comfortably handles the rated 78 in-lb torque and 9,200 RPM maximum speed within the 200 degree F temperature limit. It runs out of headroom when application torque exceeds the rated value, when shaft misalignment surpasses the stated angular or parallel limits, or when operating temperatures rise above the maximum. The 1 in width and 1 7/8 in outside diameter define the physical envelope.
