The Tadiran TL-2450/P is a 3.6 V lithium thionyl chloride cell rated at 0.55 Ah. It uses a wafer-style format with two PC pins for direct board mounting. The chemistry delivers a high, stable operating voltage across most of the discharge curve. It is built for long-life, low-current applications such as utility metering, alarms and memory backup.

0.55 Ah capacity with 10-year shelf life

At 0.55 Ah the cell comfortably powers microampere to milliampere loads for years without replacement. The low self-discharge rate keeps capacity loss below 1 percent per year when stored at 20 °C. Operation is specified from -60 °C to +85 °C, so performance holds in extreme cold or heat. The non-rechargeable design means the battery must be replaced once its energy is depleted.

PC pins simplify board integration

The two PC pins allow direct soldering to a printed circuit board, removing the need for a separate holder or spring contacts. This reduces assembly height and improves mechanical stability in vibration-prone equipment. The hermetic, non-pressurised construction resists humid environments and adds safety in sealed enclosures. The inorganic electrolyte is corrosive, so the cell must not be opened or recharged.
