Add dual USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports
This Syba expansion card adds one USB 3.1 Type-C port and one USB 3.1 Type-A port through a PCIe x4 slot. Each port supports full-duplex operation at up to 10Gbps. The card draws 5V bus power directly from the PC power supply via a 15-pin SATA connector and provides 5V/3A charging through the Type-C port. A low-profile bracket is included for compact builds.
Upgrade from older USB standards
The card replaces legacy USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports with Gen 2 speeds of 10Gbps per port. The jump is worthwhile when you regularly move large files to external SSDs or need faster charging for USB-C devices. It requires a free PCIe x4 or larger slot and a spare SATA power connector. Compatibility covers Windows 10, 8.x, 7 and Linux kernel 2.6.31 or later.
Suits desktop builders adding modern ports
This suits desktop builders who want front-panel Type-C and Type-A connectivity without replacing the motherboard. It is not for laptops or all-in-one systems lacking an internal PCIe slot. Buyers who need more than two ports or internal drive headers should look at a different controller. Systems without a SATA power cable cannot supply the required 5V bus power.

Questions about this item
What PCIe slot size does the SI-PEX20189 card require and does it include a low-profile bracket?
The card fits an x4 PCIe slot or larger and ships with a low-profile bracket for small-form-factor cases.
How is the 5 V 3 A power delivered to the Type-C port and what connector must be attached during installation?
A 15-pin SATA power connector from the PSU must be plugged into the card to supply 5 V at up to 3 A for Type-C charging.
Does the Type-C port support 5 V 3 A charging indefinitely or will the SATA power connector need replacement over time?
The SATA power connector is a standard internal cable; it does not wear out, so no scheduled replacement is needed for continued 5 V 3 A charging.
