Everyday filing for high-volume offices

The Smead 12934 file folder comes in a 100-count box of letter-size folders made from 11-pt stock. Reinforced top tabs resist tearing during frequent handling. The yellow colour allows quick visual categorisation of active projects or departments. Wood fibre is sourced from a certified managed forest.

Lightweight handling and minimal storage strain

Each folder uses standard 11-pt stock that keeps the box light enough for shelf retrieval without strain. Smooth tab edges prevent paper cuts during rapid sorting. The material produces no audible noise when folders are shuffled or restocked. No power or special environment is required for daily use.

Consistent rigidity during prolonged archival use

Under continuous drawer compression the 11-pt stock maintains tab integrity without permanent creasing. Reinforced tabs distribute stress evenly across repeated insertions and removals. Colour stays legible for long-term identification without fading from fluorescent light. The box quantity supports sustained workflow without frequent reordering.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the Smead 12934 folders so the reinforced tabs actually last?

Insert each folder into a letter-size drawer or shelf with the 1/3-cut tab facing forward; the common mistake is overstuffing the drawer so tabs catch and tear despite the reinforcement.

When will the 11-pt stock or reinforced tabs need replacing under daily office use?

The 11-pt stock with reinforced top tabs is built for extended life; replace individual folders only when edges fray, tabs crack, or the yellow colour fades enough to weaken your colour-coding system.

What is the first limitation I will hit if I keep adding papers to a single Smead 12934 folder?

The 11-pt stock provides standard rigidity, so the first limit is physical bulk — once the folder becomes too thick to sit flat or the tab bends under weight, filing and retrieval slow down.
