The Safco 1933 is a 54"W mobile desk designed for home or office use where a single work surface must serve more than one layout. Its melamine top reverses during assembly to show either a mahogany or medium oak finish, while the black steel frame adds a full-width storage shelf and a 12" modesty panel for privacy. Four dual-wheel casters, two of them locking, let the unit roll into position and stay put.

Mobility and storage limits

The desk rolls on four dual-wheel casters, yet only two lock, so the unit can still shift on smooth floors if the unlocked wheels are not braced. The storage shelf runs the full width but is only 6 3/4" deep, restricting it to slim items such as binders or a thin tower. Cable cutouts are sized for routing along a wall; they do not accommodate large connector bundles or power strips. Overall height is fixed at 30", so the worksurface cannot be raised or lowered.

Clearance and assembly checks

Measure the intended room for a 53.5" width and 28" depth footprint, plus space to swing the top during the reversible finish selection. Verify that doorways and hallways allow the 30" height to pass when the desk is assembled, because the base does not knock down for transport. Confirm the floor surface works with hard dual-wheel casters; thick carpet or uneven tile may impede rolling. The melamine top is installed once, so choose the finish before final tightening.
