Precision Shaft Collar

The Ruland MSP-12-SS is a two-piece clamp collar machined from 303 stainless steel for a 12 mm round bore. It provides a secure, non-marring grip on precision shafts in motion-control assemblies, instrumentation and light-duty drive lines where frequent adjustment or removal is required.

Holding Capacity and Limits

The 11 mm wide collar body delivers even clamping force across the 28 mm outside diameter while the 32 mm clearance diameter clears adjacent components. The 303 stainless construction resists corrosion in wash-down or humid environments but offers lower tensile strength than alloy-steel alternatives, limiting use in high-shock or heavy-torque applications.

Integration and Assembly Benefits

The split two-piece design installs or removes without sliding over shaft ends, preserving mounted bearings, gears or couplings. Stainless-steel socket-head screws are included, eliminating dissimilar-metal corrosion. The metric bore and compact 28 mm profile suit tight machine frames where a one-piece collar would demand disassembly of the entire stack.
