The Ruckus ICX 7550 provides 48 copper ports that each operate at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps. Two additional QSFP+ uplink ports run at 40 Gbps for stacking or high-speed aggregation. This combination suits campus or branch networks that need dense Gigabit connectivity with fast uplinks.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The chassis uses internal fans to maintain safe temperatures during typical daytime traffic. Acoustic output stays at a level appropriate for wiring closets or rack rooms. Power draw scales with the number of active copper links and the two 40 Gbps uplinks.

Behaviour under sustained load

When all 48 ports and both uplinks run continuously at full line rate the switch maintains wire-speed forwarding without packet loss. The fan speed increases to handle the higher thermal load while the ASIC sustains full throughput across every port. Stacking links remain stable during prolonged high-utilisation periods.
