Outdoor Mounting and Cable Routing

The kit includes 20 ft of 400-series low loss coaxial cable with pre-fitted connectors that mate directly to the antenna, lightning protector and pigtail. Minimal signal attenuation is achieved when all junctions are tightened by hand and the lightning protector is grounded to a suitable earth point. Common issues arise when the cable is bent sharply or the pigtail connector is forced onto the hotspot port without alignment, causing intermittent contact or port damage.

Frequency Range and Insertion Loss

The Yagi antenna covers 698 to 2700 MHz, matching common LTE bands used by the AirCard 791S. Cable insertion loss is below .8 dB at 698 MHz and below 1.7 dB at 2700 MHz, so the 12 dBi gain remains effective across the band. Performance drops outside this frequency window and the directional pattern requires precise aiming toward the target cell tower for best results.
