Thin 12-Inch Subwoofer for Compact Enclosures

The PowerBass S12T is a shallow-mount 12-inch subwoofer built with a fibre-composite Turbine basket. Its single-piece injection-moulded cone and large-roll rubber surround keep excursion linear in tight spaces. Dual and single 4-ohm voice-coil options give wiring flexibility for mono or stereo amplifiers. Chrome push terminals make connections quick and secure.

Sealed-Box Tuning and Impedance Limits

The woofer is optimised for small sealed enclosures, so ported designs will not realise its intended response. A 2-inch vented KSV voice-coil former handles heat but does not change the thermal power ceiling. The 4-ohm nominal impedance restricts amplifier matching to stable 4-ohm or bridged 2-ohm loads; lower impedances risk protection shutdown. Cone area and suspension travel set the maximum output before compression.

Upgrade Path from Standard-Depth Woofers

This model replaces deeper 12-inch drivers that cannot fit behind rear seats or in spare-wheel wells. The jump is worth it when mounting depth is the limiting factor and a sealed alignment is acceptable. Buyers who need ported-box output or higher power handling should look elsewhere. It does not suit installations that require a larger cone area or a different impedance curve.
