The PISKEKAT camera uses a 1/3 Super HAD CCD sensor with an Effio-E processor to deliver 960H resolution at 1000TVL. It produces a 976 by 494 pixel image in NTSC format and displays colour during daylight hours. The unit suits installers who need an analog bullet box camera for wall or ceiling mounting in residential, commercial or industrial settings.

What it replaces and when to upgrade

The varifocal auto-iris lens covers 2.8 to 12mm at F1.4, with a 6 to 60mm F1.6 option available separately. Swapping a fixed-lens camera for this model is worthwhile when the field of view must be adjusted on site or when lighting conditions vary across the day. The analog modulation and strong anti-interference design help maintain a stable signal in electrically noisy environments.

Limits of the analog interface

Video travels over a composite connection that tops out at the stated 960H resolution and 1000TVL, so detail cannot exceed 976 horizontal pixels. Cable runs are restricted by the baseband standard, and the feed does not carry audio, power or network data. Integrators needing higher pixel counts, IP addressing or single-cable power should plan for a different transmission technology.
