The Perle S-100Mm-S2Sc20 bridges 100BASE-FX multimode and 100Base-LX single-mode fibre. It connects 1310 nm SC interfaces across different cable types in campus or metro networks. Network engineers use it to extend legacy multimode runs onto longer single-mode spans without replacing endpoint equipment.

Sustained Line-Rate Conversion

The unit converts traffic at 100 Mbps continuously with no store-and-forward buffering that would add latency under load. It maintains the 1310 nm wavelength on both ports, preserving link budget across the 2 km multimode and 20 km single-mode distances.
