Compact full-frame mirrorless kit

The Panasonic LUMIX S5 pairs a 24.2MP 35mm CMOS sensor with a LUMIX S Series 85mm F1.8 lens in a lightweight hybrid body. It is built for enthusiasts and experts who want vibrant stills and cinematic video without the bulk of traditional systems. The kit suits creators ready to step up from entry-level gear.

Video limits at 4K 60p and 10-bit

Recording tops out at 4K 60p in 10-bit, with an FHD 180fps slow-motion option and 4:3 anamorphic support. Panasonic's heat dissipation allows extended recording sessions, but the camera does not offer higher frame rates at 4K or raw video output. Buyers needing 4K 120p or internal ProRes should look elsewhere.

85mm F1.8 prime defines the shooting style

The included 85mm F1.8 lens locks the kit to a classic portrait focal length with a bright maximum aperture. It excels at shallow depth-of-field work but cannot zoom or cover wider scenes. Buyers who need versatility across focal lengths will require additional lenses.
