Threaded rubber well nuts for blind fastening

This pack supplies ten rubber well nuts with a #6-32 thread. Each unit combines a flanged neoprene bushing and a captive nut so a bolt can be tightened from one side only. The rubber body expands to seal the hole while clamping the panel. They suit automotive, marine and general sheet-metal work where access is limited to a single face.

Installs in a drilled hole without rear access

Push the bushing through the pre-drilled opening, then run a #6-32 machine screw or bolt into the embedded nut from the front. As the screw tightens, the neoprene compresses and flares, locking the fastener and sealing against moisture. No welding, rivet gun or back-side tooling is required, freeasing up assembly time on closed sections such as vehicle body panels or equipment enclosures.

Replaces solid rivets

Unlike metal rivets, these well nuts maintain a watertight barrier and damp vibration without damaging paint or coatings. The jump is worthwhile when the joint must stay sealed, when the rear of the workpiece cannot be reached, or when dissimilar metals must be isolated. They are not suited to high-shear structural loads or applications requiring metal-to-metal torque retention.
