The M.A. Ford Twister Xd 7X+ is a 10.20 mm coolant-fed drill built for precision hole-making in metalworking. The internal coolant channel delivers fluid directly to the cutting zone. This design reduces heat buildup and improves hole quality in production environments.

Build Integration

The drill fits standard toolholders that accept its shank and coolant-through capability, so the machine must supply coolant pressure through the spindle. No external plumbing is required beyond the machine’s existing through-spindle system. The geometry frees up cycle time by allowing higher feed rates without pecking in many materials. It replaces separate peck-drill operations in deep-hole applications.

Upgrade Path

The Twister Xd 7X+ replaces conventional twist drills that rely on flood coolant or manual pecking for depths beyond three diameters. The jump is worth it when hole straightness, surface finish or unattended run time are critical. It is not for shops without through-spindle coolant or for diameters outside the 10.20 mm size.
