Product fit and purpose

The Lorell 02156 chairmat protects low-pile commercial carpets up to 3/8" thick including padding. It is designed for office workers who roll a chair on carpet and want to reduce caster pressure and rolling fatigue. The clear vinyl surface keeps the carpet visible while the studded back grips the pile to prevent shifting. Buyers with thick plush carpets or hard floors will not get the intended grip and protection.

Dimensions and carpet capacity

The rectangular mat measures 36" wide by 48" deep with a 95 mil vinyl thickness. A 19" wide by 10" deep lip extends under the desk to cover the area where the chair rolls closest to the work surface. This size handles standard desk footprints and moderate daily rolling. It runs out on carpets thicker than 3/8" where the studs cannot reach the backing and on very heavy caster loads that exceed the intermediate weight rating.

Build integration and clearance

The beveled ramped edge lets chair casters transition onto the mat smoothly without catching. The gripper back holds the mat in place on qualifying low-pile carpet so it does not creep during use. No adhesives or fasteners are required. The clear finish blends with any carpet colour and the single-piece construction means there are no seams to separate or curl over time.
