Oculink SFF-8612 SFF-8611 M.2 NVMe Adapter

This LORDWORLD adapter converts an Oculink SFF-8611 or SFF-8612 connection into an M.2 M-key slot for NVMe SSDs. It supports PCIe 4.0 x4 signalling with a data rate up to 64Gbps and is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0. The board accepts drive lengths from 2230 through 22110. Only the PCBA is supplied; Oculink cable and SSD are not included.

Capacity and headroom

The adapter handles one M.2 NVMe SSD in 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 or 22110 form factors. It transmits PCIe 4.0 signals using the NVMe 1.2 protocol for high-speed storage or expansion cards. It cannot convert NVMe to SATA or NGFF/SATA to Oculink, and it does not work with SAS or Slimeline SAS drives. The Oculink 4x connectors are compatible with T10/SAS-4 24Gbps and PCIe Gen 3 and Gen 4.

Upgrade path and value

This board replaces a direct M.2 slot when the host only provides an Oculink SFF-8611 or SFF-8612 interface. It is worth fitting when you need to add NVMe storage or a PCIe expansion device to a system lacking native M.2 connectors. Buyers who require SATA M.2 support, SAS connectivity or an included cable should look elsewhere.
