NEMA 14-30R 30A Connector

This ETL-certified NEMA 14-30R female receptacle accepts 30 amps at 125/250 volts for dryer and heavy-duty appliance connections. The black nylon housing meets UL 94-V0 flammability requirements and complies with RoHS and REACH substance restrictions. Terminal markings X, Y, Z, G and W follow UL 498 and CSA C22.2 No. 42 standards for clear wiring identification. Two strain-relief fittings are included to secure the cord entry.

12-6 AWG Cord Capacity

The connector accommodates 12 to 6 AWG three-conductor cords including SJT, SJTW, ST, STW, SO and SVO types with a maximum outer diameter of 31.5 mm. At 125/250 volts the rating holds at 30 amps for 6-10 AWG conductors and drops to 25 amps at 250 volts for 11-12 AWG conductors. Pure copper terminals provide low-resistance contact across the supported wire range. Builders needing larger gauge wire or higher ampacity must select a different device.

Replaces Worn Dryer Plugs

This receptacle directly replaces damaged or outdated NEMA 14-30R dryer outlets and cord-end sockets in existing installations. The upgrade is worthwhile when the original housing is cracked, terminals are corroded or the strain relief no longer grips the cable sheath. It is not suited for NEMA 14-50 or other pin configurations, nor for circuits requiring GFCI protection integrated into the receptacle.
