Loctite 135479 is an anaerobic gasket maker supplied in a 1.69 fl oz purple tube. It is formulated for sealing rigid flanges on aluminum and steel components where a conventional cut gasket is not required. Mechanics and maintenance technicians use it to create formed-in-place seals that resist vibration and fluid leakage. It is not intended for flexible joints, large gap bridging beyond 0.01 in, or applications needing instant full strength.

Build Fit And Clearance

The product cures anaerobically when confined between metal surfaces, so it needs direct metal-to-metal contact and the exclusion of air to set properly. A working time of 30 min allows positioning of parts before the seal begins to form, while full cure is reached in 1 day at room temperature. It fills gaps up to 0.01 in and operates continuously from 14 to 300 Degrees F. The tube format lets you apply a controlled bead directly onto the flange without extra dispensing equipment.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Once cured, the seal maintains its integrity across the full 14 to 300 Degrees F range, resisting thermal cycling, oil, coolant and vibration without relaxing. Anaerobic chemistry means the material remains stable in the tube but cross-links permanently when trapped between active metal surfaces.
